Science proves that men and women can't just be friends
10/23/2012As if "When Harry Met Sally" and a thousand surveys hadn’t already answered the question, "Can straight men and women just be friends?" ... Scientists have dumped a load of cash to take the conundrum to the lab where, to no one's surprise, they came up with the same answer: No! To exhaust the issue, researchers quizzed 88 boy-girl friend pairs. Lo and behold, men were far more likely to be lusting after their platonic female friend regardless of her relationship status. Meanwhile, women were oblivious to their buddy's feelings and had no problem overlooking his sexual appeal — especially if he was taken. Final takeaway from this we-could-have-told-you-that study? If you think your best friend's beau is hitting on you, he probably is. [Source]
