Good news for the guys — chocolate reduces stroke risk

8/30/2012

There’s more good news for chocolate fans, particularly those with nuts. A new study has found that of the men examined, those who ate the most chocolate (let’s not go crazy, we’re talking about 63 grams per week) reduced their chances of suffering a stroke by 17 percent. The findings, published in the journal Neurology, looked into the diet patterns in more than 37,000 Swedish men aged between 39 and 75, asking about their consumption of various foods and drinks, specifically chocolate over a decade. While research on women’s health and chocolate has been plentiful, this time it’s a treat for the guys. Guard your secret stash of cocoa goodies, ladies! [Source]
