Three elderly Mennonite sisters attacked at home in hate crime

12/17/2012

Need another reason not to open the door for strangers? On Friday morning, while youngsters were suffering at Sandy Hook, three elderly Mennonite sisters were being assaulted in their Pennsylvania home by a young man posing as an insurance salesman. In what police are calling a hate crime, the perp bound the women with tape, beat them and shot them with a stun gun. Then he ransacked their home, dousing furniture in household chemicals. Not bad enough? He also read passages from their Bible before vandalizing that, too. Luckily, the villain finally took off and the women, aged 84 to 90, are now recovering in the hospital. Police have arrested a suspect and are calling Friday "the day for assaulting the unprotected." [Source]
