Horrific pics of meth users called 'health terrorism' by critic
12/10/2012We all know meth's a bad idea but you'd be pressed to find more eye-shattering evidence than the pics in the new viral campaign, "Horrors of Methamphetamine." The before-and-after photos created by Rehabs.com (be warned: The images are confronting) have been met with sharp criticism from at least one expert who believes the images go too far. Substance abuse psychologist Dr. Dolores Cimini called the anti-meth operation "health terrorism," adding that no research shows these kinds of shots are effective at altering behavior. Yet the project manager behind the campaign says the concrete images make the ads more effective. We're not really sure, but they certainly don't make us want to run out and pick up a habit. [Source]
