Racehorse retires to an idyllic life of painting in the countryside
12/22/2012Metro the racehorse won his owner $300,000 in prize money over his career, and now that he's retired he's still making Ron Krajewski money — this time by painting. Because Metro would bob his head when he got off the track, his own Krajewski (himself a painter) decided that Metro was clearly chomping at the bit to express himself. Now Karjewski says Metro is "impatient" without a brush in his mouth to stroke against a canvas in his stall. His very abstract works sell from $40 to 300, which is donated to care for other adopted horses. We'd love one, of course. "You see that over the mantel, Marjorie? A horse painted that." [Source]
