Marlins threaten to sue fans who don't want to pay for obscured view

3/20/2013

How bad can a front-row seat be? Jan and Bill Leon think the ones they have at Miami Marlins games stink, thanks to the bright-green padding above an advertising sign they say both blocks their view and dangerously obscures oncoming foul balls. The Leons had set up a $25,000, two-season contract for season tickets at the Marlins’ new venue, but once the billboard went up, they asked to have the signed moved, or to move farther down the third-base line. At which point the Marlins threatened a lawsuit, which seems a decidedly fan-unfriendly approach. The team says the Leons have refused alternate seating options, and their comments suggest the couple might aso just be tired of watching a loser. "It's a Double-A team now," Jan Leon said. [Source]
