Bloomberg booed during parade through Queens, and not because of soda
3/3/2013Not everyone in Queens was pleased to see Mayor Michael Bloomberg marching in the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Far Rockaway Saturday. The politician and his party mates were met with boos by residents upset with the mayor’s response to Hurricane Sandy. While the event was supposed to be a positive event for Queens neighborhoods ravaged by the storm, it seems the crowd could not forget that during and after the disaster, they had food and shelter shortages while Bloomberg went on TV to talk about the fate of the ING New York City Marathon. As a reminder of the tragedy, boarded-up businesses and homes lined the parade route. [Source]
