Filmmaker arrested for testing cops with fake terrorist stunt
9/27/2012A Phoenix filmmaker who staged a terrorist hoax to test police response times in the aftermath of the Aurora, Colo., theater shooting has been arrested. Michael Turley first posted a video he made of his 16-year-old nephew walking around a busy Phoenix intersection wearing a mask and a white sheet and holding a fake grenade launcher on July 31. The video shows the boy wandering the area for 15 minutes before a police officer arrives to investigate. Though he wasn't arrested at the time, an investigation was launched into his stunt and today he was charged with giving a false impression of a terrorist act, endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
