Michigan passes law allowing guns to be carried in schools, day cares
12/14/2012On the eve of one of the deadliest school shootings in history, lawmakers in Michigan approved legislation that would allow gun owners with permits to carry their weapons in schools, day care centers and other places where once forbidden. Proponents maintain the new law would improve public safety in letting gun owners aid in volatile situations, but Rep. Joan Bauer was just as adamant in insisting that "There are just some areas where guns should not be allowed." The bill still must be signed by Gov. Rick Snyder, who has so far remained noncommital in the wake of Friday's shooting. [Source]
