Michigan voters might still be peeved at Romney
2/20/2012That "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt" headline is still dogging Mitt Romney, especially in his home state of Michigan where folks will vote later this week. Was the 2008 New York Times opinion piece a nod to the Tea Party, or was Romney expounding on the ruthless capitalist principals that made him so rich? Either way, it's providing fodder for Obama loyalists, who are busy accusing Romney of leaving Detroit to die and pointing out that GM is celebrating a record $7.6 billion in profits for 2011 -- thanks to that $80 billion government bailout. But Romney now claims Obama actually followed his advice. "The course I recommended was eventually followed," he told The Detroit News.
