Mickey Mouse jilts Pluto, appears on planet Mercury

6/16/2012

Don't worry, Disney is not staking out the planets of our solar system for a new theme park location, but Mercury seems to be advertising its hope become part of the Magic Kingdom. New photos from NASA's Messenger spacecraft, which is orbiting the planet closest to our sun, show an array of craters that just happen to resemble Mickey Mouse, and we're wondering if Disney marketers are already trying to recast the famous song as M-E-R ... C-U-R-Y. It makes us a little sad though: All it does is remind us of Pluto's sad planetary demotion. Thanks a lot, Mickey.
