New Microsoft logo is more colorful, but it's still pretty square
8/23/2012Microsoft is getting a makeover after more than 25 years. Along with new devices like the Surface tablet and a series of updates to well-known products, the company is saying goodbye to the bold italic logo it's been known for since 1987 and is embracing a lighter, more colorful look. The new logo, which was unveiled at the opening of a Microsoft store in Boston, features a square made up of four smaller colored squares — a nod to the Windows brand — and "Microsoft" in a light-gray type. Jeff Hansen, manager of brand strategy, said the new look was meant to "signal the heritage but also signal the future." [Source]
