New kinds of Microsoft games might take up an entire room

9/12/2012

Gamers, get ready to go big: A U.S. patent owned by Microsoft suggests that the company plans to do away with traditional screens for at least some of its game titles in the future. Instead, the playing field could be projected on an entire room, with the game’s graphics visible on multiple walls at once. In the application for the patent, which was filed in March 2011, Microsoft said the new technology would allow a player to "turn around and observe an enemy sneaking up from behind." Players might wear 3D glasses "to make it even more interactive," according to Mashable. [Source]
