This technology could save of lives of people trying to learn Chinese

New technology is able not only to translate languages in real time, but into words spoken in the speaker's tone. A video released by Microsoft shows chief research officer Rick Rashid demonstrating the innovation to an enthusiastic audience. Skip to around 7:30 and be amazed when Rashid's English words are repeated back in Mandarin with just a few seconds' delay. Microsoft intends for the technology to break down the barriers of language. "Personally, I think this is going to lead to better world," Rick says in his presentation. And surely, anything's better than the grind of learning another language.
