This technology could save of lives of people trying to learn Chinese
11/9/2012New technology is able not only to translate languages in real time, but into words spoken in the speaker's tone. A video released by Microsoft shows chief research officer Rick Rashid demonstrating the innovation to an enthusiastic audience. Skip to around 7:30 and be amazed when Rashid's English words are repeated back in Mandarin with just a few seconds' delay. Microsoft intends for the technology to break down the barriers of language. "Personally, I think this is going to lead to better world," Rick says in his presentation. And surely, anything's better than the grind of learning another language.
