Middle school student busted for DIY belly-button piercings

4/12/2012

In between the cat videos and One Direction clips, YouTube boasts a library of how-to's, covering everything from fly-fishing to ... do-it-yourself body piercing? A Georgia middle-school student blamed the video-sharing site after getting busted for piercing her own belly button and poking not-at-all unsanitary holes in at least one classmate. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says that the girl pierced one friend's navel -- at school! -- and "was planning to do others, just in time for spring break." Police officers confiscated three piercing needles and 13 navel rings and charged the girl with reckless conduct. Guess it's back to YouTube for the rest of us, maybe to learn how to serve as our own defense attorney.
