Helpful burglar leaves cops his iPad and his car for easy ID'ing

11/19/2012

Bungling burglar Miguel Luna, 25, left every clue imaginable when he tried to rob a Los Angeles home in broad daylight on Nov. 13. Kicking the door in, he supplied a perfect footprint, not to mention waking the napping homeowner as he rooted around for goodies. Tearing out of the house, and into view of the well-marked surveillance camera, Luna jumped into his getaway car ... that wouldn't start. Returning to the house, he begged the owner not to call the cops but was knocked out with a garden hoe, providing a lovely blood sample. Regaining consciousness, Luna ran off, abandoning his car, which contained his own photo-filled iPad and an identifying traffic ticket. Amused cops are calling the crime scene "a study in how to get caught." [Source]
