Ministry guitarist Mike Scaccia dies after collapsing onstage
12/23/2012Mike Scaccia, 47, longtime guitarist for the industrial metal band Ministry, collapsed during a show in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday night and was pronounced dead at a hospital. Scaccia joined Ministry in 1989 when the band steered away from its original new wave/synth-pop incarnation and played with the outfit on and off until they disbanded in 2008. A 2011 reunion led to the 2012 album "Relapse," though their commercial success never rivaled the heights it reached with early '90s hits such as "N.W.O." and "Jesus Built My Hotrod." Scaccia also contributed to a few Ministry spin-off bands, including the Revolting Cocks, Lard, Buck Satan and the 666 Shooters. [Source]
