U.S. has 300,000 new millionaires for you to resent — hooray!

3/15/2013

Break out that bottle of two-buck chuck you've been saving for a special occasion. God has blessed America with 300,000 newly minted millionaires. The grand total of households sitting on nest eggs worth $1 million or more is now 8.99 million — and that's not including the value of the family home. The number may even exceed the 2006 record of 9.2 million when this year's gains are taken into account. The rise is mainly due to rich folks being able to keep their investment chips on the table, while others had to cash in during the recession to pay for dumb stuff like mortgage repayments and bread.
