Cozy, and illegal, Paris apartment measured less than 17 square feet

It's fun to think back to your first shoebox apartment and reminisce about how you ever managed to live in such a cramped place. But we bet it was still bigger than this Parisian apartment. A 50-year-old man in Paris who is only known as "Dominique" had been paying $442 a month to live in a 16.8-square-foot apartment (1.56 square meters) that featured a skylight and a slanted roof that made it impossible for a person to "stand correctly." The landlord is facing a court date as the legal minimum size for an apartment in Paris is 9 square meters. How did Dominique deal with his home's small size? "I come home. I go to bed," he said. [Source]
