Miracle baby survives being born in a public toilet

A newborn is making a miraculous recovery in Beijing after she was accidentally dropped down a toilet following her birth. The nine-days-early infant made a surprise appearance on Saturday when her in-labor mother stopped to use a public restroom on the way to the hospital and ended up giving birth over the toilet. The baby slipped out of reach and into the pit, but rescue workers pulled apart the toilet and retrieved the newborn within 30 minutes. One worker noted that the baby seemed "a little pale and stiff" afterward, but the child's aunt says the baby is doing "OK" and that the family hopes to bring her home from the hospital "as soon as [the] doctor permits it."
