Man buys awesome missile launcher outside gun buyback event

1/29/2013

Best place to buy a missile launcher? A police gun-buyback event, of course. Seattle cops witnessed a guy purchasing a missile launcher from another member of the public for $100, right outside the buyback area. Police swooped in and took possession of the awesome unit, compensating the bereft gun enthusiast, Mason Vranish, with a $200 shopping gift card. The nonfunctioning launcher was a single-use tube assembly for a Stinger portable surface-to-air missile and had already been used. Vranish is hoping he can get the booty back. Seems pretty unlikely — these bad boys are military property reserved for soldiers and normally not available to regular schmoes. [Source]
