Gold medalist Missy Franklin wants to swim like any schoolgirl

11/20/2012

Teen swimming star and four-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist Missy Franklin may compete for her humble high school team outside Denver, she told reporters yesterday. Seventeen-year-old Franklin said she felt conflicted over whether to swim for Regis Jesuit High School, torn between helping her schoolmates and taking away a chance for a non-Olympian to rule the pool. "It's hard, because I feel like no matter what I do, it's going to be opposed in some way," Franklin said, while collecting the U.S. swim team’s Golden Goggles award for female swimmer of the year. Maybe she could compromise and only dog paddle in the try-outs. [Source]
