After Olympics flap, Romney calls ceremony 'spectacular'
7/30/2012
"Lovely, weren't they just lovely? SPECTACULAR, really. Why yes, I am referring to those things I just called 'disconcerting' a few days ago." Though that's not a direct quote, it was the crux of the verbal U-turn presidential candidate Mitt Romney made today as he called the Olympics' Opening Ceremony in London "spectacular." The comments came in stark contrast to an interview Romney gave earlier in the week, in which he questioned whether London was ready for the big event, earning him another groan in a gaffe-plagued summer -- and the consternation of the city's mayor.
