Romney snubs his wife by skipping her horse's Olympic event
8/2/2012
Mitt Romney's wife, Ann, clapped and waved today, telling the press she was "thrilled to death" as her horse Rafalca competed in an Olympic dressage race. The only thing missing from her jubilation? Her husband. Political commentators speculated the GOP hopeful had "snubbed" his wife because he wanted to distance himself from a sport often seen as elitist as he works to shed the image of being out-of-touch with the working class. "I have to tell you, this is Ann’s sport,” Romney said on July 26. “I’m not even sure which day the sport goes on." The horse didn't medal today, which we’re assuming Mitt doesn't know yet. [Source]
