Mitt Romney turns down cookies, eats his foot instead
4/19/2012We're four months into an election year and, so far, the loudest debates have been over what candidates will -- or will not -- put in their mouths. The same day President Obama was skewered for the man-bites-dog part of his memoir, Mitt Romney turned down a plate of cookies from Pittsburgh's iconic Bethel Bakery and ended up with his loafers in his mouth. "I'm not sure about these," he said. "Did you make those? No. They came from the local 7-Eleven bakery or wherever." BURN! Bethel Bakery responded by offering a buy-one, get-one CookieGate special. "Let him eat cake next time," owner (and Republican) John Walsh said. Just not one from Bethel Bakery.
Was Romney being rude or just making a joke?
