MLB legend skips son's graduation, says it's no biggie
6/15/2012Kirk Gibson will forever be a hero to Dodgers fans for the incredible game-winning World Series homer he hammered back in 1988, but he's not exactly a heroic father figure. Gibson missed his son's graduation from high school in Michigan last night because he is the manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks and had work to do. That's understandable. But when Gibson was asked about his feelings on missing the graduation, he came across as pretty cold. "You're supposed to graduate," Gibson told reporters. "His mom and the rest of the family will be there. He's coming to see me next week." Where's the love, Kirk?
