MLB prospect goes on Twitter diatribe over 'so many gays'
4/22/2012The Minnesota Twins released infielder Reggie Williams on the eve of the regular season, which was probably wise because he'd likely be in trouble with MLB's social media police today. Williams, who was profiled in an MLB.com feature last year as "just a good human being," went on a Twitter jag in which he first wondered "Why are there so many gay people these days?" and then branching off into rants on seeing "the bold act of gayness in public" and other offenses. By Sunday, he'd apologized (including on Twitter) and insisted "I don't hate anybody," but @TeddyKGB noted, "Seems like a lot more people don't agree with YOUR lifestyle ... or you wouldn't be apologizing so profusely."
