Mock 'Transformers' trailer might beat the real thing
5/18/2012Huge thank you to Screen Junkies for saying everything we're thinking out loud. This time they've taken on "Transformers," harshly outing it as a shameless advertisement for kids' toys. We can just imagine narrator Ganon Nickell's sonorous voice echoing around a real cinema's Dolby system announcing, "Based on a children's cartoon design to sell toys comes a movie designed to sell toys." The mock trailer picks the film to pieces, confirming the inner dialogue of many parents who've endured this epic -- all the while berating themselves for exposing their kids to blatant on-screen advertising. But do kids care? As far as we know, Transformers toys are as popular as ever.
How do you feel about advertising in kids' movies?
