Modern pooches hounded by depression, anxiety, stress
6/25/2012A study of 1,300 dogs has found they're just as crazy as we are. A survey by U.K. vet Dr. Claire Corridan suggests a cowering 80 percent of dogs suffer from a range of mental disorders including "hyperactivity" (running up and down the fence barking like idiots); "fears" and "phobias" (mailmen, vacuum cleaners); obsessive-compulsive disorders (tail-chasing); "separation anxiety" (peeing on the floor when you get home from work), and depression. Dr. Corrigan puts canine disorders down to our weird, detached modern way of life. "We all have busy lifestyles, so quite often cats and dogs are spending less time with their owners and less time being socialized." Sound familiar, computer-face?
