Man declares his own front yard to be a sovereign nation
12/8/2012Apparently it's the season for secesssion. Kevin Baugh declared himself president of the "micronation" of Molossia in 1998, cordoning off his front yard from the rest of the state of Nevada and posting signs warning visitors that they were entering "an independent, sovereign nation ... no longer in United States territory." Baugh's hope for independence took a step forward this week, when — presumably inspired by secessionist moves across the country — he used the We the People petition site to declare independence. Unlike Texas, Molossia hopes to maintain its "current peaceful and fruitful relationship" with the U.S. [Source]
