Mom busted for allegedly knocking back beers with her 4-year-old son

A South Carolina woman disqualified herself from the Mother of the Year competition after she was arrested for allegedly giving her 4-year-old son shots of beer outside a bar south of Charlotte, N.C. Witnesses told police they saw Gretchen Lynn Kinnear giving the child sample shots of beer even after another patron asked the manager to stop her. The boy reportedly told sheriff deputies his mother said the drink was "tea" and that it "tasted funny and made him laugh a lot." He also said his mother gave him "tea" at home that made him feel "dizzy." The boy is now being cared for by a couple who regularly babysit him. [Source]
