Morbidly obese cat is equivalent to 600 lb. human
4/21/2012This fat cat is hilarious! He's also really, really sick, which is the tradeoff for being morbidly obese. Two-year-old "Meow" weighs 39 pounds, merely 27 more than he should, reports Santa Fe's KRQE. He's the equivalent of a 600-pound human, with a really silly name to boot. One thing he's not is a world record: Guinness listed the fattest-ever housecat at 47 pounds, before it stopped keep the records to discourage overfeeding. "Meow" has the excuse of an 87-year-old owner, who recently turned him over to a Santa Fe shelter because she could no longer handle him. Prepare for a news report with one too many "Shrek" references, while Meow prepares for Cat Zumba.
Should owners be punished for overfeeding pets?
