More women are quitting 9-5 jobs to be ladies of leisure

Educated gals, who may be sick of earning significantly less than their male counterparts, are ditching the office as their husbands bring home bigger paychecks. According to Reuters, a Federal Reserve study shows there has been a 0.1 percent decrease each year from 1993 to 2006 in the number of college-educated women in the workforce. The study's authors link this decline to a sharp increase in pay for top earners, a slot typically dominated by men.

Inc.com managing editor Rachel Elson calls the trend "depressing," but others feel it's an admirable life choice. @syhum says, "The family benefits more than the economic value. Priority." We can't help wondering: How many guys would stay home if the tables were turned and most wives made more?
