12/16/2012Have you seen Morgan Freeman's "statement" on the Connecticut shooting and been tempted to share it with your Facebook friends or Twitter followers? Well, don't. It’s a stinking hoax. There's a running joke online that everything sounds better in Morgan Freeman's voice, and Reddit users discovered a long Facebook post by "Mark" of Vancouver that is identical to Freeman's "statement." It was liked a bunch, and Mark later commented on his own post, "If I know the Internet, someone will attribute the quote to Morgan Freeman or Betty White and it'll go viral." Looks like someone ran with that idea, and the joke got way out of hand. [Source]
