Morgan Freeman says he's not marrying step-granddaughter
4/13/2012Hold off on searching for that Bed Bath & Beyond gift registry. Morgan Freeman and his step-granddaughter are speaking out -- in what we imagine, in his case, to be a soothing, mellifluous voice with an edge of righteous anger -- to dispel rumors they're engaged. Freeman said in a statement to TMZ that "recent reports of any pending marriage or romantic relationship of me to anyone are defamatory fabrications from the tabloid media," expressing alarm that the story had begun to gain traction in "the legitimate press." E'Dena Hines, the 27-year-old granddaughter of Freeman's first wife (OK, so Freeman's not Hines' blood relative, but still...), called the rumors "not only untrue" but also "hurtful." Not to mention just creepy.
