Woman looks forward to seeing long-lost daughter after 67 years

9/2/2012

Every Aug. 3, Bessie Sedor baked a cake for the daughter she hadn’t seen since 1945, but for years, she never told her family why. Now, after 67 years, the Calgary woman will see her daughter for the first time she since giving her up for adoption. The heartfelt reunion is the result of Sedor's grown son, Daryl, who learned about the adoption two years ago — after years of asking about the cakes — and set out on a mission to find his sister. The two women will meet on Sept. 6, and Daryl says the reunion is what's keeping his 91-year-old mom hanging on. She keeps the picture of her daughter, Carole Lynn Knight, in the room of her care center, he said. [Source]
