Motorcycle racer turns a near-crash into a neat trick

5/17/2012

Racing motorcycles makes for a dangersous living, to be sure, -- but if you're as freakishly athletic as racer Genki Hagata, let's just say you've got a better chance at avoiding an accident than your average rider. An (extreme) case in point: When Hagata's Yamaha YZF-R6 lost traction in the rear, a lesser mortal would have, you know, crashed. But not Genki, who instead hugged the handlebars like a long-lost brother and willed the bike to stay upright as he hung on, ass-out, until balance was regained and he did a kick-flip back into the saddle.
