Mr. Bean and his lovable foolishness may be done for good
11/17/2012Mr. Bean may soon be a has-been. Rowan Atkinson, the actor who created the world's favorite lovable mute, feels the time may be up for the iconic Mr. Bean character. "Someone in their 50s being childlike becomes a little sad," Atkinson told a British newspaper, referring to the broad physical comedy that Mr. Bean represents as "stuff… I increasingly feel I'm going to do a lot less of." There was even a hint of sadness in the interview, as Atkinson described the silent clown creation as "a rod for my own back" which typecast him as a fool not capable of serious roles. [Source]
