In ultimate holiday effort, Muslims back Catholic food drive
12/22/2012A Catholic food drive in London, Ontario, got a massive boost from a perhaps-unlikely ally: members of a local mosque. “To us, the spirit of Christmas is the spirit of brotherly love, and why wouldn’t we want to be a part of it?” said Ali D. Chahbar, who helped organize the mosque's efforts. A representative from St. John the Divine Catholic Church said this year's food donations topped previous efforts — a tally that included 30 boxes of food collected by children at an Islamic school. "We are not Christians and don’t celebrate Christmas but we are engulfed by the spirit," Chahbar said. [Source]
