Mutant rats, immune to poison, descend on English town

11/21/2012

There's only one thing more disturbing than watching a rat die by internal hemorrhaging from eating poison – and that's watching a rat eat the poison, smile, and put its disease-ridden claws out to ask for more. A minor plague of rats carrying a genetic mutation which makes them resistant to anticoagulants has befallen the small town of Henley-on-Thames in England. The mutant rats look the same as normal ones, live in the same places, and carry the same infectious diseases. The only difference is you can't kill the little bastards with conventional poisons and the existing poisons that could curb the mutant population are so toxic, they're illegal. [Source]
