Feather appears in baby's neck, but no one knows how it got there

12/14/2012

Mya Whittington, a 7-month-old from Hutchinson, Kan., was admitted to hospital when her parents Aaron and Emma spotted a rapidly swelling bump on the side of her neck. Was it a pimple? Nope. A swollen lymph node? Nope. A feather? Yep. To repeat: Mya had a two-inch feather emerging from her neck. Doctors have no idea how the feather got in her, but Aaron says they guess Mya "inhaled it or tried swallowing it and it got lodged in the throat somewhere, and the body, just being crazy, just started to reject it and force it out the side of her neck." He added that she's now "almost 100 percent recovered." [Source]
