Insane nail art designs will have you scratching your head

Not that long ago, aggressive nail art meant a particularly daring shade of pink — or maybe a neon. But based on the trending Pinterest and Tumblr nail sites, these days you're not on the cutting edge unless you've glued mini machine guns onto your nails, and even then you'll have some stiff competition from artists positing caviar-like beads into their polish, inking mini SpongeBobs, or drawing tiny circuit boards onto their nails. We're not sure it's pretty, or even attractive — but the nail does seem to have given a generation of self-improvement artists a newly vital (if extremely small) canvas for their creativity.
