From space, record-setting storm system is even more impressive
2/27/2013From down below, the big winter snowstorm that has blanketed a vast swath of the country looks like a travel nightmare, with canceled flights, icy roads and miserable commuters. But seen from space, the record-setting storm, which has been blamed for at least three deaths, looks breathtakingly beautiful. This image, captured by NASA's Terra satellite on Feb. 25, shows the storm system as it moved eastward across the central United States, covering Colorado and Wyoming, as well as parts of Utah, New Mexico and Nebraska. Some parts of the country have had record snowfalls as the storm has continued its slow, deadly progress. [Source]
