NBC sparks outrage (again) as it delays world's fastest race8/6/2012
The buildup was immense, and as the clock ticked down to the most anticipated race at the London Olympics, the world gathered to watch. But if you were in the U.S., you didn’t join the estimated 2 billion people who witnessed Usain Bolt’s spectacular performance live on television. NBC – already heavily criticized for its Games coverage – made the mind-boggling decision not to show the race live, but to show it hours later during advertising-rich primetime. Seething fans jumped on to Twitter and expressed their anger over a less-than-10-second legendary event that somehow was not ready for live time. [Source]
