Even Olympic officials are taking swings at NBC's games coverage8/11/2012
NBC's Olympic performance has been savaged daily, and now even games personnel are irate. Announcers Bob Papa and Teddy Atlas were asked to leave their ringside seats and work from the media tribune because their commentary disturbed officials. Instead, the two broadcasters left the arena, and the network will now comment on boxing footage from its New York studios. With the preposterous results of two fights being reversed in addition to the usual number of dubious decisions, it's not hard to imagine why boxing officials are so sensitive. On the other hand, the network couldn't manage to air U.S. teenager Claressa Shields' gold medal bout in prime time, so its coverage hasn't exactly been a knockout. [Source]
