Watch these birds dance in unison to the perfect song

2/7/2013

There are times when even the most hardcore cynics can appreciate the majesty of the natural world — enhanced, of course, with the right mood-setting music. Filmmaker Neels Castillon’s short film “A Bird Ballet” is a lovely piece of work, capturing a large flock of birds (possibly starlings) moving with balletic grace in unison across a beautifully-lit sunset sky over Marseille, France. Castillon was shooting a commercial, waiting for a helicopter to show up, when the birds appeared. Not wanting the moment to go to waste, he and his cinematographer began filming. Of course, one needs the perfect indie rock song to accompany such beauty, and thus, the film is scored with the song “Hand-Made” by British band Alt-J.
