Dad of Sandy Hook victim heckled during emotional gun testimony

1/29/2013

On Monday, bereft dad Neil Heslin remembered his 6-year-old son, Jesse, who was killed in the Newtown massacre, as his "buddy" and "best friend" who "loved life." As he made a heartfelt plea to Connecticut lawmakers for changes to the state's approach to assault weapons, his voice was choked and strained. That didn't stop gun advocates from heckling him. When Heslin asked why anyone off the battlefield would need a gun capable of killing so many so quickly, like the one used at Sandy Hook, someone hollered, "The Second Amendment!" Heslin said he respected the heckler's opinion, "but I wish they'd respect mine." [Source]
