Man celebrates wedding to actual woman by killing virtual girlfriend
11/28/2012They take the Nintendo DS dating simulator "LovePlus" very seriously in Japan. A Japanese man was reportedly in such a committed "relationship" with Nene Anegasaki, one of the characters in the game, that he invited her to his wedding to a real-life human woman. Nene (who, remember, is not an actual person) was allotted a seat at the ceremony. Sadly, the wedding ended in murder when the bride, understandably not so accepting of the digital other woman, demanded that he smash Nene's game cartridge with a mallet and permanently erase her. Photos show the newlyweds obliterating Nene together — but not the tears the groom apparently shed. [Source]
