Court: No more special treatment for Netflix at the post office

1/12/2013

Netflix just got a zero-star review from an appeals court, which slammed the company's cozy deal with the U.S. Postal Service. A federal court ruled Friday that Netflix gets an unfair advantage from special handling of its DVDs by the mailman, and the court ordered postal officials to fix the discrimination. The case was brought by GameFly, which distributes video game rentals through the mail. They company claimed that USPS processes Netflix DVDs by hand in specially designated containers, but refused to treat GameFly discs the same way. Has there ever been a clearer case of anti-nerd discrimination? [Source]
