New airport body scanner can detect, well, everything
7/10/2012Put off by the weird full-body scanners that are already used at some airports around the country? The Department of Homeland Security is planning to install a crazy new laser body scanner at airports and border crossings that can detect not only trace amounts of drugs or gun powder on your clothing, but the contents of your stomach and the amount of adrenaline coursing through your body - all from 50 meters away. The laser is reportedly 10 million times faster and 1 million times more sensitive than any scanning system currently in use and is expected to arrive in airports by 2013.
